To Sow & To Reap: A 5786 Jewish Agricultural Calendar

Jewish Farmer Network is proud to present To Sow and to Reap: a 5786 Jewish Agricultural Calendar. Nadav Machete brings twelve edible, cultivated plants from the Torah to life through his hand drawn illustrations. Each month features a different harvest–from wheat and barley to figs and garlic–along with the hands that tend them. We’re honoring both the plants of our tradition and the human labor, care, and intimacy that is essential to the story of the Jewish people. 

May this calendar serve as a reminder that tending the land is an ancestral tradition, and that the work of our hands is woven into the rhythms of the seasons, the cycle of the moon, and the story of the Jewish people.

Nadav Machete is a Tel-Aviv based artist and illustrator. His main material is life, and he always tries to tell a story in his works.
