About the Event
Join us to celebrate and reflect on this past Shmita year in community! We will learn together from guest teacher, Justin Goldstein, and have an opportunity to share what this past year has been like. Whether you set aside a small community garden bed or 5 acres of your farm, we would love to hear about your experience engaging with this ancient yet visionary practice!
While this program is geared towards participants of JFN's Shmita Plots, it is open to all! 🌻
Justin Goldstein is the Learning and Engagement Associate for Sefaria.org, which offers free online access to thousands of years of Jewish text. After serving synagogues in Bangor, ME and Asheville, NC from 2011-2019, Justin co-founded Yesod Farm+Kitchen, a small regenerative farm in Western North Carolina in 2020. Justin has been learning and teaching on the intersections between Jewish wisdom, food, farming, and earth stewardship for more than 20 years and continues to be an aspiring Jewish farmer.
