About the Event

Join us to mark the time between Passover and Shavuot; between the onset of spring and the first harvest festival; between our mythic escape from bondage and our receiving of the Torah.

This month, we'll learn from Gavi Strauss about the practice of Counting the Omer. We'll also have some time for anyone who wants to share their personal practices or insights from counting the omer.

Queer Jewish Farmers is a gathering space at a unique intersection of identities. Tired of being "the only one" of any of these types of person in the group (much less all three)? Come hang out with us and feel the power of togetherness with folks who deeply connect with your lived experiences every first Wednesday of the month!  This an exclusively queer space. We don't gatekeep, but you must self-identify as LGBTQ+ to participate. Email queerjewishfarmers@gmail.com for more info.

To join the call and/or for more information register here or email queerjewishfarmers@gmail.com

We've also added an option to make a donation to Jewish Farmer Network along with your RSVP. A donation is NEVER required to attend QJF events, but if you are able to contribute, it helps support JFN in paying us to facilitate, paying our content contributors for their queer Torah (teaching), and supporting JFN's other programming.

Who is this space for?

First and foremost, this space is designed for anyone who self-identifies with any identity on the brilliantly colorful LGBTQIA+ spectrum. It’s for anyone who self-identifies as Jewish, regardless of what form that takes in your life. And finally, it’s for anyone who self-identifies as a farmer or land-worker, regardless of whether you’re currently actively farming.

Identifying as queer, trans, intersex, or another identity in the rainbow is a requirement and how we maintain a safer space. If you have any questions about whether this space is for you- please reach out!
